5th Annual No Straight Path 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb | Austin, TX
Sep 08, 2026
On Saturday, September 12, 2026, No Straight Path® will host our 5th Annual 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Mt. Bonnell in Austin, Texas - a free community workout created to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
There are no medals. No podiums. No requirement to finish.
Just show up, climb what you can, and remember why you're there.
The 9/11 Stair Climb Workout
The workout is simple:
22 total climbs of the Mt. Bonnell stairs.
One trip up and back down counts as one climb.
Completing all 22 climbs totals approximately 2,200 steps - the equivalent of roughly 110 stories, representing the height of each of the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center.
You do not have to complete all 22 climbs to participate.
Whether you finish five climbs, 10 climbs, or all 22, this is about coming together as a community, challenging yourself, and taking time to remember the significance of September 11.
Weighted vests are optional for anyone who wants an additional challenge.

What Should I Bring?
Austin can still be hot in September, and 22 trips up Mt. Bonnell adds up quickly.

Wear comfortable training or running shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. A weighted vest is optional, but not necessary.
Most importantly, come prepared to work at your own pace.

Why 110 Stories?
The North and South Towers of the World Trade Center each stood 110 stories tall.
Across the country, 9/11 stair climbs and memorial workouts have become a way for firefighters, first responders, military members, athletes, gyms, run clubs, and local communities to physically honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001.
Our annual 9/11 Stair Climb follows that same spirit.
At Mt. Bonnell, completing 22 full climbs equates to approximately 2,200 steps, or roughly 110 stories.
It's a difficult workout by design, but finishing every climb isn't what makes someone a part of it.
Showing up does.
